Now based in Tottenham, where all the brewing, storage and distribution happens, the company approached ICS Cool Energy to provide a hired cooling system that would ensure constant product quality, while providing a practical alternative to capital expenditure.
Beavertown’s relationship with ICS started when an existing cooling system failed to cope. The company installed a 75kW chiller, with a 1,000l buffer cube and a secondary circulation pump to bypass the failed system. A chiller and air handler package was also added in the storage area during peak ambient temperatures during the summer.
When the fermenter numbers were doubled to 12, a second 75kW chiller was installed.
By the time the brewery had 24 fermentation tanks, space was limited, so ICS Cool Energy delivered a bespoke tank to fit the space along with two new 135kW chillers.
