Symrise has reported group sales up 41% to 1.3bn for the first half of 2015, while group profits rose 44% to 300M.

Chief executive of the flavour and fragrance house Dr Heinz-Jurgen Bertram said: “Symrise continues to stand for growth combined with outstanding profitability.

“We are thoroughly satisfied with our first-half performance. We experienced strong demand in all regions and despite some economic uncertainties in some markets, we are looking ahead to the second half with confidence,” he added.

Sales increase

Flavour and nutrition sales increased by 75% for the first half of 2015, driven by a rise in new business and more orders from existing customers.

The strongest region was Latin America, where sales grew by 115%, while sales in North America nearly doubled and grew by 92% for the same period on the previous year.

Of the firm’s future, Bertram said: “The group expects demand to remain strong in all regions. For the full year, Symrise aims to outperform the global market for fragrances and flavours and delivering a margin of more than 20%.”

Economic growth in Europe would also drive sales, he added.
