Pasty factory fire won’t affect customers: WC Rowe
WC Rowe said it would be business as usual as soon as possible after the fire broke out at the Falmouth-based factory on the Bickland Industrial estate in the early hours of Saturday (July 19) morning.
Eight fire crews were called to tackle the blaze, which was brought under control by Saturday afternoon.
“The blaze has been put out and we can confirm there have been no casualties,” the company said on its Facebook page.
‘Contained to a small area’
“We have been able to view the damage and can confirm the fire has been contained to a small area of the building,” it added.
“We have in place robust contingency plans for incidents such as this and are in the midst of implementing these to ensure none of our customers are affected.”
There were no signs of suspicious activity, said WC Rowe, although it was still waiting for the fire service to complete its investigations into the cause of the fire.
“We are very confident to be fully operational again in a short space of time,” it added.
