Tesco boss to attend Fengrain Conference

Tesco’s technical director Tim Smith is to address Fengrain’s cereals conference at the East of England Showground, Peterborough on November 7.

Smith will discuss consumers’ choice of food priorities and the role of the retailer, said Paul Wilkinson, Fengrain chairman, in this video interview.

Also speaking at the conference will be Ed Fuchs, United Biscuits’ group procurement director. Fuchs will explain what food manufacturers are doing to ensure the security of their supply chain and credibility of their food safety systems.

Other speakers include: Tim Lang, professor of food policy at City University, Mark Buckingham, responsible for UK corporate affairs at Monsanto, and Edward Flatman, the senior wheat breeder at Limagrain.

The free-of-charge conference​ will take place between 8.30am and 1pm. More information about Fengrain’s conference is available here​.

Meanwhile, Wilkinson, who is also chair of the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards, said recently entries in this year’s food manufacturing Oscars had made 2013 a vintage year​.
