The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has appointed six new Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes (ACNFP) members, who each began their three-year term of membership on January 1.

Independent food safety consultant Kevin Swoffer; professor of agricultural marketing at Newcastle University Christopher Ritson; company secretary for UK-based research firm NRC (Europe) Gillian Pope; Surrey University's head of microbial sciences professor Michael Bushell; director of the Human Nutrition Research Centre at Newcastle University Professor John Mathers; the University of Aberdeen's professor Andrew Chesson; and head of the Nutrition and Epigenetics Group at the Rowett Research Institute Dr Paul Haggarty have all joined the committee.
