William Robertson and Sons on the outskirts of Edinburgh has become the first company in the UK to take delivery of a new Tipper Tie Alpina

Swipper C automatic double clipper. Launched recently at the IFFA exhibition in Frankfurt, this compact model of the Swipper range offers an affordable solution for manufacturers of clipped products including sausages, patés, cheeses, soups and confectionery products.

UK supplier Bryant claims that the machine can be run on all known plastic, fibrous and collagen casings up to diameters of 80mm.

It has state-of-the-art touch-screen controls, is made of a stainless steel, and can run at 130 pieces per minute.

Haggis, black pudding and white pudding are all being processed through the new double clipper at Robertson's Belmont Factory at Eskbank. The company also manufactures sausages, burgers and pies for their van sales operation to the catering trade and fast food outlets.

Bryant is the UK and Ireland agent for the Tipper Tie group, manufacturer of clipping and bowl cutting machinery.
