Key Technology now offers laser-based sensing technology to customers alongside its optical inspection capabilities.

The new Optyx G6 3000 Series Sorter with Rapid Laser Technology combines Key's G6 colour cameras and powerful G6 sorting platform with laser technology to set a new standard in performance and safety.

Offering the highest spatial resolution laser scanner in food sorting, the system maximises the simultaneous detection and removal of defects and foreign material. The Optyx analyses size and shape as well as millions of subtle colour differences while the laser technology detects foreign matter from differences in the optical properties of materials.

The technology is ideal for packaging lines handling up to six tons of product per hour where it can eliminate costly hand-sorting labour. When located on the packaging line immediately upstream of final packaging, the new sorter assures that all packaged products meet specifications.

The system is fitted into the processing line as a self-contained unit and features a flat belt with air tensioning for consistent tracking and minimal maintenance. It has a quick release feature and an easy access cantilever design to make belt replacement fast and simple. Simply connect to air, power and water and start sorting.

It features a 24 inch wide scan width with up to three sensors located above and or below the product stream depending on the needs of each application.
