Requiring fewer label changes, offering increased uptime and using a thermal transfer printing technique, Videojet Technologies has launched its new P3400 label printer applicator to the packaging sector.

With a modular design for a seamless combination of the base system, a print engine, and one of eight standard application modules, the system has a standard 350mm unwind reel (400mm optional) which results in fewer label changeovers and increased productivity.

Videojet's P3400 also has an optical low-label sensor, which along with a 'one-screen set up', make it an off-the-shelf solution that can be customised to suit most printing and packaging applications in the food and beverage industries.

The applicator features premium-quality thermal transfer printing for high-resolution bar codes and text for shipping labels, which can be fixed anywhere on a shipping carton or case.

The versatility of a modular design minimises changeover downtime due to its easy-change electronics and air module. Ethernet connectivity, with a host PC, makes it simple to set up and control through a familiar HTML web page interface. The system's software features a multiple label configuration menu and user-configured beacon and status output.
