With healthy eating being top of food producers' agendas, ingredients manufacturer Zeelandia has launched a new bread mix for bakers that gives the health benefits consumers are looking for.

Full of bran, sunflower kernels, linseed and rye, the bread mix -- called Prokorn -- creates a tasty multi-cereal bread for consumers with a healthy and active lifestyle.

Prokorn has more calcium than whole wheat, so it promotes stronger teeth and bones. It also contains more of the anti-stress mineral magnesium. The mix is also rich in phosphorus, iron and fibre and has lower sodium and cholesterol levels.

Lewis Davage, technical manager for Zeelandia in the UK, says: "Prokorn benefits the entire body from a healthy metabolism to better digestion and circulation."

Available in a 25kg bags, it is said to be easy to use, merely requiring the addition of yeast and water.
