Cyber-attacks have reportedly halted production at a Cadbury factory in Tasmania, after its owner, global food giant Mondelēz, was infected by ransomware.
Food and drink manufacturers have been advised to improve their computer system security, after last month’s ransomware virus attacks, which crippled more than 200,000 computers worldwide.
The weekend’s global cyber attack, which struck dozens of National Health Service (NHS) trusts, should act as a wake-up call for food and drink manufacturers to take internet security seriously, warn industry representatives.
