Coca-Cola on track to open transformed facility
Coca-Cola Enterprises is making strong progress in transforming a disused production area at its Edmonton site in north London into a new bottle blowing and filling line.

The soft drinks giant has been working with Chalcroft Construction and project management consultancy Faithful & Gould on the £1.5m initiative. The aim is to achieve a flagship facility that combines blow moulding and filling equipment from German supplier Krone.

"The fast-track, five-month project has evolved to meet the client's needs, but a flexible and proactive approach from all parties will see the start of production equipment being installed on schedule in March [2011]," commented Chalcroft md, Mark Reeve.

The installation includes new drainage; specialist floor tiling; suspended ceilings; electrical infrastructure; energy efficient lighting and an air-handling facility that utilises waste heat generated by an adjacent compressor system.
