Poultry and ingredient supplier Rectory Foods has forged a strategic partnership with distribution firm Acura Foods that will add another 50 fresh and frozen pork and beef products to its portfolio.

Rectory Foods, which supplies wholesale, retail and manufacturing customers, will buy a majority share in Acura Foods. The two companies will benefit from shared customer databases. Acura has 20 years’ commercial and technical experience in red meat distribution and a wide network of customers and business links in Europe, Asia and North America.
David Eaton, md of Acura Foods, will manage the new red meat division, under Rectory Foods.
The partnership will be officially launched in April at the Food and Hotel Asia exhibition in Singapore where Rectory Foods will be participating as part of the EBLEX (English Beef and Lamb Executive) commission. Following this, the red meat division will focus on boosting sales in the UK, Far East and African markets.

“The partnership allows us to extend our product portfolio and the natural addition is red meat,” said Charles Woolley, founder and director of Rectory Foods. “Acura Food’s knowledge and expertise will be a valuable asset to us and this, coupled with our own experience and networks, will strengthen our position in the food industry and build on our reputation as a reliable and efficient provider of quality meat products and food ingredients.
“We are planning further growth and expansion in 2010 and beyond as we take on more staff and increase our customer base, and this development is a great platform for us to build on.”

Eaton said: “We are delighted to be part of Rectory Foods and welcome the opportunity to share our industry insight and knowledge of the marketplace with such a reputable company. There are exciting times ahead for Rectory Foods and it is an honour for us to be a part of its success.”
