Cadbury Schweppes has designed two new cereal bars to provide the British army with the vital nutrients required to climb the treacherous west face of Mount Everest.

Scientists and technologists from the confectionery giant have developed the bars to provide troops with the different nutritional requirements they’ll need at the base and at the summit of the mountain.

Cadbury says that the focus of the bar’s development is “nutrition for purpose” and they are designed to be consumed at high altitudes without crystallisation.

The energy boosting bars come in user-friendly packaging that can be opened whilst wearing gloves.

The expedition is expected to take place in 2006.
