Global food and drink powerhouse Mondelēz has appointed a veteran of the consumer goods sector as its new chief financial officer (CFO).

Former Kellogg’s executive Amit Banati will take up the role on 1 July 2026, replacing outgoing CFO Luca Zaramella.

Having held the CFO role for close to eight years, Zaramella was named as the Chicago-based firm’s new chief operating officer (COO) earlier this year.

Banati has spent the last 13 years at Kellogg’s, having joined from a previous spell at Mondelēz in 2012, where he took on the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa president role. He was made CFO in 2019 and left the position last year.

He has since worked as CFO of US-based consumer health firm Kenvue, best known for producing the Tylenol brand of paracetamol.

In his new role, Banati will report to Dirk Van de Put, chairman and chief executive officer, and join the company’s leadership team.

Van de Put said: “Amit is a highly experienced CFO who brings a strong blend of financial leadership and commercial acumen spanning multiple consumer businesses.

“His track record of delivering results and building talent across large, global businesses as a CFO, alongside his breadth of general management and emerging market experience, will provide important perspective to our leadership team. I look forward to working with him to deliver against our strategic growth agenda.”

Banati added: “I am delighted to rejoin Mondelēz International. I am excited to return to a company and set of brands that I know well. The company has an iconic portfolio, an advantaged global footprint and a talented team.

“I look forward to working closely with Dirk and the entire team to advance the company’s strategy, achieve its significant growth potential and continue its strong track record of profitable growth.”
