Linda McCartney Foods has unveiled its new vegan Chicken Style Dippers in a bid to support inclusive school menus.

Founded by Linda McCartney in the early 90s and now owned by Hain Celestial Group, the brand is focused on bringing vegetarian and vegan food to a wider audience.

This latest product launch will see Linda McCartney Foods bring a vegan twist to a familiar, child-friendly favourite that has been specifically designed to appeal to school catering.

Packed with protein, the vegan dippers have been crafted to support inclusive school menus without compromising on “quality, taste or nutrition.”

The launch follows research that shows as many as 80% of parents said that it was important that vegetarian school meals were offered in familiar formats children already enjoy.

According to Linda McCartney Foods, it was also crucial for vegetarian and vegan-inclined parents that this alternative ‘chicken-style’ dippers looked and tasted similar to its traditional counterpart, with 69% of parents saying that their child is likely to choose them at school.

“The research has shown that children are more likely to choose vegan or vegetarian options when they’re served in familiar formats they already enjoy. Our new Chicken Style Dippers deliver exactly that - a high-protein product that’s been developed specifically to appeal to children’s tastes”, said Rebecca Fairbairn, marketing and strategy director at Linda McCartney Foods.

“For vegan and vegetarian options to be successful in schools, children need to genuinely enjoy them. We’ve created a dipper that kids will actually want to eat, which means better uptake for caterers, less waste, and more children benefiting from nutritious meat-free meals. As the original meat-free pioneer, Linda McCartney Foods remains a brand that caterers and families trust for taste and quality. These dippers give schools confidence that they can offer vegan options children will reach for first.”

The product is now available in 8 x 200g foodservice packs and nationwide via catering wholesalers.

It joins the existing line of frozen products under the Linda McCartney Foods brand portfolio, including the newly launched Gluten Free Vegemince.
