The supermarket has issued an urgent recall for one of its fruit products over salmonella contamination fears.

Tesco has warned customers not to consume any packs of its Grape & Berry Medley over concerns it may be contaminated with salmonella.

This particular recall affects 230g packs of the fruit medley with a use by date of either 16 February 2026 or 17 February 2026.

Detected as part of routine testing carried out by Tesco, the firm has apologised for “any inconvenience caused” to its customers and has clarified that this is the only product affected.

A serious bacterial infection, symptoms of salmonella can include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) advises anyone who is potentially suffering from these symptoms to stay away from work, school or nursery until they have stopped for at least 48 hours, or they may run the risk of passing on the illness to others.

If customers have bought the product, they are advised not to consume it, and instead return it to any Tesco store in exchange for a full refund.

The news follows several recent food recalls issued by Tesco, which saw the UK’s largest grocer put out notices concerning mislabelled Special Fried Rice last month, as well as an urgent warning over foreign body contamination fears in batches of dog food.
