Designed to tap into the rising global popularity of pistachio which has been on shopper’s lists since Dubai chocolate went viral, Bio&Me has launched Pistachio & Vanilla Low Sugar Granola and Pistachio & Chia Overnight Oats.
The business was co-founded by ‘The Gut Health Doctor’, Dr Megan Rossi in 2019, with all its products developed by the gut health scientist and specially formulated to deliver a diverse range of plant-based ingredients that are high in fibre.
Crafted to help the gut microbiome thrive, the Pistachio & Vanilla Low Sugar Granola product contains 14 plant-based foods including pistachio, chia seeds, carrots, coconut and dates and carries the EFSA-approved ‘Good For Your Gut’ health claim.
Commenting on the gut health benefits of pistachio, Rossi said: “Pistachio is having a real moment, and it’s easy to see why. Not only do they bring a naturally delicious, creamy flavour, they’re also rich in gut-loving prebiotics and plant protein, keeping you satisfied for longer with a nourished gut microbiome.
“At Bio&Me, we’re always led by the science, so choosing pistachios for our new granola and overnight oats isn’t about following a trend for trend’s sake, it’s about pairing great taste with gut health benefits. We hope these launches will resonate with pistachio-loving consumers across the country, delivering a breakfast (or moreish afternoon snack) they genuinely look forward to.”
Pistachio & Chia Overnight Oats is made up of a variety of 12 plant-based foods including pistachio, chia seeds, wholegrain oats, almonds, and like its sister product, contains no artificial ingredients, sweeteners or palm oil.
Based in Chester, Bio&Me’s offering spans four categories with its ranges of granolas, porridges, mueslis, oat bars, kefir yoghurts, and drinks.
“We’ve seen strong demand from both consumers and retailers for a Bio&Me take on pistachio, so we were only too happy to oblige,” added Jon Walsh, co-founder and CEO of Bio&Me.
“These launches allow us to tap into the trend in a way that’s authentic to Bio&Me, delivering plant diversity and strong gut health credentials. We’ve had fantastic support from the team at Tesco and see this as an exciting opportunity to bring something fresh to the breakfast category that consumers will love.”
The new products will be made via Tesco stores nationwide as well as via the brand’s website and sold at an RRP of £3.50 each.
This launch follows a long line of similar NPD, including Gü and The Coconut Collab.
