Plant-based meat alternatives brand Beyond Meat is expanding into the drinks market with the launch of a protein beverage line in the US.

Set to be rolled out initially in its home market, the new ‘Beyond Immerse’ range will combine plant protein, fibre, antioxidants and electrolytes in three flavours.

Designed to “replenish the body”, Beyond Immerse drinks will be available in Peach Mango, Lemon Lime and Orange Tangerine options.

Each flavour profile will come in two variants – a 20g protein variety and a lighter, 10g protein variety.

Tapping into the growing fibre trend seen on social media in recent months, each drink will also contain 7g of fibre, close to a third of the daily recommended intake.

“With Beyond Immerse, we are bringing our pioneering expertise in unlocking the power of plants to a functional beverage line,” said Ethan Brown, founder and CEO of Beyond Meat.

“Our intent is simple: immerse the consumer in the remarkable nutrition of plants—from protein to fibre, with the addition of antioxidants and electrolytes—all in a single refreshing and satisfying 12 fl oz (355ml) drink.

He continued: “Beyond Immerse has been specially and carefully designed to provide nutrients that are critical to muscle health, gut health, and immune function, so that whatever the goal is, consumers can Go Beyond.”

The brand’s landmark launch coincides with introduction of its new Beyond Tenders offering for the UK market, available now in Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores in celebration of Veganuary.
