Available in Sainsbury’s in a two-pack premium ramekin format at an RRP of £3.95, the new product will additionally be rolled out to other retailers later in the year.
The four-layered after dinner treat combines a double-cocoa biscuit base, mascarpone cheesecake, Italian pistachio crème, and salted chocolate croquant in the brand’s famous glass pots.
The item will expand Gü’s premium chilled desserts portfolio and will look to combine its ‘signature indulgence’ with a flavour profile that is increasingly gaining international popularity among consumers - fuelled by the Dubai chocolate viral sensation.
Fred Ponnavoy, head chef at Gü commented: “Pistachio is a flavour our consumers tell us they want more of, and we’ve spent months perfecting a recipe that allows its delicate, nutty notes to shine.
“We’ve used generous amounts of Italian pistachio paste and added a touch of salted croquant for contrast. It’s a flavour combination that feels both classic and completely new, our kitchen team are already nuts for it.”
The move follows on from the firm’s major global rebrand actioned earlier this week in which it unveiled a renewed visual identity spearheaded by a dynamic new packaging vision.
Celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year, Gü has grown to become one of the UK’s market leaders in accessible premium desserts – and has now set its sights on international expansion.
