Newly Weds Foods has acquired UK-based sauce and food ingredients manufacturer JDM Food Group.

Established over 20 years ago, JDM’s focus revolves around sourcing, developing and manufacturing fresh natural liquid products for foodservice and food processing customers.

Trading out of Boston, Lincolnshire, JDM operates from a recently expanded manufacturing facility and prides itself on “high operating standards, product quality, and disciplined manufacturing practices”.

The move will see Newly Weds expand its liquid and sauce capabilities and offerings in the UK and Europe, as it looks to support continued growth with both existing and new customers.

Brian Johnson, president and CEO of Newly Wed commented: “We are pleased to announce the acquisition of JDM Food Group, a company known for its strong growth, talented leadership, and commitment to culinary innovation and execution.

“JDM’s people and well-invested facilities make it a natural complement to Newly Weds Foods, and we are very excited to carry forward the growth and momentum that Aisling and the JDM team have achieved.

He continued: “Together, we are strengthening our sauces and coatings capabilities and building greater scale across the UK and mainland Europe to better serve our collective customers across the foodservice, manufacturing, retail, and prepared meal channels.”

With its global HQ based in Chicago, Newly Weds maintains a significant physical presence across the UK, with sites in West Yorkshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire.

Operating 18 manufacturing facilities across North America, Newly Weds also has 13 plants throughout the UK, Canada, China, India, Poland, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines and New Zealand, which collectively support customers across 80 international markets.

Today is an exciting step forward for our business and our people as we begin our new ownership under Newly Weds Foods,” Aisling Kemp, CEO of JDM added.

“Their shared vision for JDM and the growth opportunities that it brings for not only our team, but our customers and suppliers, is incredible. We look forward to accelerating the growth of both Newly Weds and JDM across wet and dry flavours, with innovation and culinary excellence continuing to be at the heart of everything we do.”
