Forming a key part of Pilgrim’s Europe, Richmond has earmarked Veggie Tasty as an important new development as it looks to build on its popular fresh and frozen offerings.
Due to be rolled out to major retailers throughout the rest of December and into the new year, Veggie Tasty will additionally be backed by a frozen line set to be unveiled in March.
The new meat-free range will be supported by a significant multi-platform media campaign, which will include advertising placements across nationwide out-of-home sites and social media.
Lauren Pizey, Head of Brand at Pilgrim’s Europe, said: “The launch of Richmond Veggie Tasty is an important step for us and aligns perfectly with the growing demand for more natural vegetable-based products.
“Our new range gives shoppers an accessible vegetable-based alternative, while maintaining the quality and taste Richmond is known for. At Pilgrim’s Europe, we remain committed to developing products that resonate with families and make it easier to enjoy meat-free meals together.”
The new chilled Veggie Tasty sausages will come in eight pack formats, while the frozen range will be available in packs of twelve. The new vegetable-based sausages are made with 42% vegetables, including broccoli, carrot, sweetcorn and peas.
The launch comes just as Britain gets ready to tackle the yearly festive culinary challenge, and comes on the back of the launch of over 170 new festive products by parent firm Pilgrim’s, which will include Brie and Cranberry Kyivs, a Pigs in Blanket Stuffed Chicken Crown, and On-the-Bone Cherry Glazed Ham Joint.
Established near Liverpool over 135 years ago, Richmond Sausages has grown to become a household name in the UK, with the brand claiming that its products are enjoyed in a third of British households, by more than 20 million people.
