The two variants include The Original Margarita and The Passionfruit Margarita, which are packaged in a 125 ml slimline format at 12.5% ABV.
Crafted with premium tequila and natural ingredients, the cocktails are free from artificial colours and flavours.
The Original Margarita offers a zesty blend of Cointreau L’Unique orange liqueur, premium tequila, lime peel distillate, and lime juice. Meanwhile, The Passion Fruit Margarita combines Cointreau L’Unique, premium Tequila, lime juice from concentrate, and natural passion fruit flavour.
The launch aligns with new research from Rémy Cointreau, which revealed that 59% of UK consumers plan to enjoy more cocktails at home during the festive season than at any other time of year.
The recipes were developed by Carole Quinton, Cointreau’s Master Distiller, based in Angers, France.
She said: “In creating these RTD cocktails, I got to blend my distilling expertise with the craft of mixology. As a creator of experiences, I wanted each recipe to deliver the perfect balance, preserving the spirit of Cointreau while elevating every sip. It was about finding the right assembly of ingredients to achieve that harmony between the liqueur and its ingredients. The result is two new Margaritas that are bold, fresh, and uncompromising in quality.”
Clémence Gallet, Cointreau Executive Director added: “Our ready-to-drink cocktail range, now enhanced with new flavours on our classic Margarita and available in a can, is a premium expression of this consumption habit. It is designed to invite cocktail lovers to savour Cointreau at any cocktail occasion.”
Packaged in 100% recyclable cans, Cointreau Cocktail Twists are available at Waitrose and Waitrose.com, priced at £4.00 per can.
