Ben & Jerry’s is tapping into consumer demand for indulgent treats by launching two new SKUs inspired by iconic bakery treats - Ben & Jerry’s Churrifically Churros-y and Ben & Jerry’s Strawberry Doughnut-eee.

The new flavours target the 31% of global consumers who prioritise indulgence when it comes to snacking. (Source: Streetbees)

These new flavours are designed to be the most indulgent Ben & Jerry’s products and are fully loaded with five elements of chunks & swirls, the company said.

Ben & Jerry’s Churrifically Churros-y features five elements inspired by the nostalgic churros experience which include a mix of caramel and sweet cream ice creams, cinnamon sugar pieces, gooey chocolatey swirls and churros-style chunks.

Ben & Jerry’s Strawberry Doughnut-eee features a mix of strawberry and sweet cream ice creams, white ampersand chunks, jammy strawberry swirls and doughnut-style dough chunks.

The new SKUs are made with Fairtrade certified vanilla, sugar, and cocoa.

Lucy McManus, UK Brand Manager at Ben & Jerry’s, said: “We’re thrilled to introduce two indulgent new ice creams from Ben & Jerry’s. The new tubs are focused on accelerating growth through innovation that levels up the Ben & Jerry’s globally-adored offering.”

She added: “Our consumer testing has told us that churros and doughnuts are particularly popular among a young audience and are top scoring on purchase intent, especially among 18–34-year-olds, so we are confident this launch will drive excitement among this demographic.”

Ben & Jerry’s Churrifically Churros-y and Ben & Jerry’s Strawberry Doughnut-eee have launched in Ocado, with a recommended retail price of £5.75.

Meanwhile, the Ben & Jerry’s brand has been involved in controversy recently as it clashed with owner Unilever over its plans for a Palestinian-themed ice cream in support of Gaza.

This clash continued last month when Unilever’s ice cream division Magnum Ice Cream, said that the Ben & Jerry’s chair no longer met criteria to serve as a board member.

Unilever also recently revealed plans to complete the demerger of its ice cream business by the end of the year.
