The new product from dog food company Years.com is crafted from an ancient Himalayan recipe with the Himalayan Milk ‘Pupcorn’ Puffs containing just two ingredients: 99.99% pure milk and a pinch of salt.
The treat is 100% natural, grain-free, and contains no artificial preservatives or additives. The treats are cooked in the microwave where they watch them puff up like popcorn.
They are crafted by Head Chef Luke Alkemade whose background includes Michelin-star kitchens, luxury yachts and product development for Charlie Bigham’s. They are also packed with protein and rich in calcium for strong teeth and bones.
According to Years.com the all-natural milk chews have been designed for popping, “just like the human variety.”
This is the latest pet food launch to tap into the increasing trend of the humanisation of pet food. Recent launches have included the UK’s first Halal-certified cat food as well as a new gut health test for dogs.
The natural treat also fits into the wellness trend which is continuing to grow in the petcare category.
Research from James Wellbeloved found that 79% of pet owners take as much care over what they serve their four-legged friends as they do with their own meals.
The innovative snack from Years.com, is exclusively formulated snack for dogs. Available in a c50g box for £4.95, the Himalayan Milk ‘Pupcorn’ Puffs are now available for purchase exclusively from Years.com.
Darren Beale, CEO of Years.com, said: “We all love a movie night with popcorn, but who wants to leave their best friend out? We created Pupcorn so owners can share that exact moment of joy. It’s about showing love in a fun, healthy way and giving our dogs a proper cinema thrill. Forget about boring treats and start treating them like the stars they are!”
Earlier this year, Meatly announced that it has received regulatory clearance to sell cultivated meat for pet food in the UK.
This launch with only two ingredients follows that of Hunter & Gather which recently nabbed a listing at Waitrose for its four ingredient 100% Avocado mayonnaise.
