Ritter Sport has secured a national listing with UK wholesaler Booker.

The German chocolate brand said that the move significantly strengthens its footprint in the UK convenience channel, and follows launches with several major grocery retailers earlier this year.

Booker wholesale depots will stock the brand’s ‘Rum, Raisins and Hazelnuts’ flavour, as well as the ‘Pistachio’ block.

Booker’s retail partners, which include Londis and Budgens, will also offer both products alongside the ‘Marzipan’ SKU.

The chocolate category has grown by 7.6% in the past 52 weeks and is now valued at nearly £270 million.

Ahleam Safdar, senior business manager at Ritter Sport, commented: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Booker to bring Ritter Sport to even more UK shoppers. This marks an important step forward in our expansion within the convenience channel, which plays a crucial role in driving snacking and impulse purchasing.

“The listing reflects increasing demand for high-quality chocolate within the impulse-driven convenience sector. Ritter Sport’s bold flavours and commitment to premium ingredients have delivered strong results across multiple channels, establishing the brand as a must-stock choice.”

Founded in 1912, Ritter Sport is a family-owned company which opened its new UK headquarters in Leeds earlier this year.

The office has been designed to keep the UK and Ireland team connected with their international colleagues and trade partners across the world.

It features conference areas, breakout pods and multiple meeting rooms, as well as a temperature-controlled storage space to house Ritter’s chocolates.
