As of now, 440 ml cans and 330 ml bottles of Wrexham Lager Export (5% ABV) are available to buy in all Welsh Waitrose stores.
The new listing with Waitrose follows the brand’s successful expansion into the US, Canadian, Australian, Scandinavian, Hungarian and Northern Irish markets over the past 18 months.
Meanwhile, Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney purchased a stake in The Wrexham Lager Beer Co in October 2024, and now serve as co-owners alongside the Roberts family.
The pair, who are also majority owners of football club Wrexham AFC, acquired the brewery through Red Dragon Ventures, which is a joint venture formed by their R.R. McReynolds company, along with minority investors the Allyn family of Skaneateles, New York.
Commenting on the new listing, interim CEO of The Wrexham Lager Beer Co Jon Roberts said: “Expanding our UK footprint with our new partnership with Waitrose is another huge milestone for the business. We’re excited to put forward our high-quality lager to a wider range of shoppers, strengthening our presence on the high street and helping bring our product into more Welsh households.
“Following another strong year of business, we’re looking forward to the momentum ahead and with more conversations already underway, we’re eager to see the next chapter for the Wrexham Lager Beer Co unfold.”
The Wrexham Lager Beer Co produces a range of beers made with the “finest ingredients”, using a unique original recipe that is over 140 years old and still to this day follows those traditional Bavarian methods of its founders.
In addition to Wrexham Lager Export, the brewer produces an original 4% ABV Wrexham Lager and a 4.6% ABV Pilsener.
