The new facility became operational at the start of September, when the flavour manufacturer moved across from its previous HQ in nearby Neston.
JPL Flavours funded the 75,000 square foot premises through an £11 million investment, which the firm believes will enable it to continue expanding its customer base and flavour portfolio.
The site has been fitted with a hand selected range of advanced equipment, with JPL Flavours claiming to now be “one of the most technologically advanced flavour houses in the UK”.
This includes a selection of AI tools, as well as 16 team labs where customers can work alongside JPL Flavours staff to create sweet, savoury and beverage flavours.
Commenting on the opening of the new site, JPL Flavours founder and managing director Jake Lavelle said: “We’re on a mission to raise the bar for digital innovation in the flavour industry. We’ve built the new headquarters with efficiency, sustainability and innovation in mind – we can’t wait to show our customers. The new premises will provide a great home for the team and be a place where our ideas can come to life.”
Meanwhile, a post on the firm’s LinkedIn page read: “Jake Lavelle accompanied by his two children and partner Danielle, have officially cut the ribbon and opened our new head quarters!
“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers here, driving innovation and continuing to push boundaries as the UK’s most technologically advanced flavour house.”
The opening comes towards the end of a busy and significant year for the business, which has included the hiring of new chief flavourist Nick Dyson.
In other news, UK-based ingredients manufacturer Treatt has agreed to sell up to rival firm Natara in a deal worth £156.6 million.
Under the terms of the deal, Treatt shareholders will receive 260p in cash for each share. The offer was unanimously recommended by the firm’s board.
