Martin will take up the role on 6 October 2025 and will report directly into Angus Thirlwell, the president and chief innovation officer at Hotel Chocolat.
The firm has not made a formal announcement about the appointed, but confirmed the news after it was shared by Martin on LinkedIn.
Posting on the social media platform, she said: “I am excited to share that I will soon be starting as the UK GM of Hotel Chocolat. As a long-time admirer of Hotel Chocolat, it’s a privilege to now lead a brand in the UK that so many, including myself, feel passionate about.
Its blend of ethical values, bold creativity and uncompromising quality sets it apart. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with the team to shape the future while staying true to what makes Hotel Chocolat so loved."
In a response to Martin’s post, Thirlwell said: “Welcome to Hotel Chocolat, Carrie! Your skills, experience and belief will drive us towards our brand destiny. Let the exciting plans commence!”
For the past four years Martin has worked as general manager for Europe, Middle East & Australia at Kind, a nut and fruit bars brand that is owned by Mars. She has also worked at Mars in various roles in the past.
Hotel Chocolat was acquired by Mars in November 2023 in a deal worth £534m, and operates a manufacturing site in Royston.
