Soft drink brand Hip Pop has announced the appointment of Matt Bowler-Jones as its new CEO.

In a post on LinkedIn, Hip Pop said that Bowler-Jones was replacing the outgoing Graham Beales who has spent the past two years as CEO.

Bowler-Jones has spent the past three and a half years at B2B tea and coffee supplier Finlays, serving as commercial and supply chain director for the last year and a half.

Announcing the news, Hip Pop wrote: “Matt brings a wealth of experience in building and scaling consumer brands, and he’s stepping in to lead Hip Pop into our next exciting chapter — bringing more proper good pop to the masses.

“We also want to say a huge thank you to Graham Beales for his dedication and leadership during his time as CEO. He’s helped steer Hip Pop through an incredible stage of growth, and we’re hugely grateful for his service.”

The post concluded: “With Matt at the helm (and Emma & Kenny continuing to drive our mission as founders), we’re ready to keep pushing Hip Pop to new heights.”

Hip Pop was founded in 2019 by Emma Thackray and Kenny Goodman, and now has its range of products listed with grocery retailers including Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose and Co-op.

Speaking to sister title The Grocer, Goodman thanked Beales for the “energy, drive and ambition” that he has brought during a “monumental chapter for the business”.

“Matt’s vision, expertise, and passion for what we do makes him the perfect person to lead Hip Pop into its next phase of growth,” Goodman continued.

Meanwhile, Bowler-Jones said: “Joining Hip Pop at such an exciting stage of its growth feels like the perfect fit for me. In the past two years, Hip Pop has seen some incredible progression, and Graham must take great credit in delivering this success.

“The brand has established itself as vibrant, relevant, and a real force in the industry so I can’t wait to amplify this even further and drive continued growth of the business and its amazing people.”
