Waitrose is recalling a pasta product sold in Scotland and Wales because it contains mustard which is not mentioned on the label.

Packs of ‘Waitrose & Partners Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta 375g’ with a use by date of 27 August 2025 are impacted by the issue, which makes the product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.

Waitrose has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The recall is specific to Scotland and Wales and does not extend to England, the Food Standards Agency has said.

The grocery retailer is displaying point of sale notices which explain why the recall has been announced and alert consumers to the issue. The notice, which will be displayed until 27 September 2025, urges anyone with an allergy to mustard not to consume the product and to return it for a full refund.

“We apologise that is has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused,” Waitrose said.

In related news, Farmfoods is recalling a chicken curry product because it contains undeclared crustaceans.

Packs of ‘Farmfoods Ultimate Keralan Chicken Curry 400g’ with the product code L550 and best before date of 13 February 2026 should not be consumed by anyone with an allergy to crustaceans because it contains prawns which are not mentioned on the label.
