Packs of ‘Farmfoods Ultimate Keralan Chicken Curry 400g’ with the product code L550 and best before date of 13 February 2026 should not be consumed by anyone with an allergy to crustaceans because it contains prawns which are not mentioned on the label.
The best before date is shown on the bottom right of the front of pack.
Farmfoods has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall, and is displaying point of sale notices in stores that stock the product.
Anyone with an allergy to crustaceans has been advised to return the product to any Farmfoods store for a full refund with no receipt required.
“It has come to our attention that a limited quantity of our [Farmfoods Ultimate Keralan Chicken Curry] were mistakenly produced with prawns,” a Farmfoods statement said.
“This ingredient is not declared on the product label, posing a potential health risk to individuals with seafood allergies or intolerances.
“We take consumer safety very seriously and sincerely apologise to our loyal customers for this situation and any inconvenience it may have caused.”
In other news, Daylesford Organic is recalling a nut butter product because it may contain pieces of metal.
The farm shop announced the recall of jars of ‘Daylesford Organic Cacao Double Nut Butter 230g’ because some jars may contain metal ball bearings, which present a choking hazard and make the product unsafe to eat.
Jars with the batch code 230625 and a February 2027 best before date have been impacted, with consumers urged not eat their contents by Daylesford Organic and the Food Standards Agency.
