Moving Mountains secures Ocado listing for ‘Superfood’ range

Plant-based food brand Moving Mountains has secured a listing for its new ‘Superfood’ range with online grocery retailer Ocado.

The London-based food technology firm is aiming to capitalise on consumer demand for simple ingredients and nutritious food, with the range including a ‘Spicy Superfood Burger’, ‘Superfood Crispy Dippers’ and ‘Spicy Superfood Bites’.

With almost 15 plant points per product, the range is aimed at supporting gut health and providing an option for health-conscious consumers, meat-free eaters and flexitarians.

The Superfood Spicy Burger comes in 200g packs that retail at £3.50 each and contains 8.3g of protein by 100g, while the Superfood Spicy Bites retail at £3.50 per 204g pack.

Finally, the Superfood Crispy Dippers retail at £3.50 per 210g pack, and are a source of source of iron, protein and fibre.

Founded in 2016 by Simeon Van Der Molen, Moving Mountains specialises in plant-based meat and fish alternatives. Its range of products are listed with Waitrose, Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods, while they are also available via foodservice outlets such as Hard Rock Cafe.

Fellow plant-based brand THIS unveiled its own ‘Superfood’ range in April, featuring two products made from fava bean protein, seeds and vegetables.

Mark Cuddigan, CEO of THIS, said that with the launch the firm was creating a“whole new plant-based protein and texture”.
