Tesco is recalling three pasta salad products because they have been contaminated with Salmonella.

This includes packs of ‘Tesco Basil Pesto & Semi Dried Tomato Pasta 225g’ with a 24 July 2025 use by date, ‘Tesco Chicken & Chorizo Pasta 285g’ with a 24 or 25 July 2025 use by date, and ‘Tesco Feta Semi Dried Tomato Pasta 290g’ with a 24 July 2025 use by date.

The possible presence of Salmonella within the SKUs was detected during routine testing, with Tesco and the Food Standards Agency urging people not to consume packs with the use by dates listed above.

To alert people to the recall, product recall notices are being displayed in all Tesco stores that stock the SKUs. These have information about why the recall was announced and tell anyone that has purchased an impacted pack not to consume its contents, and to return it to any Tesco store for a full refund.

No other Tesco products have been affected by the issue.

Symptoms caused by ingesting food contaminated with Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

“If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should stay away from work, school or nursery until you have stopped having symptoms for at least 48 hours to avoid passing it on to others,” the Food Standards Agency has advised.

In related news, Tesco has announced plans to build a new distribution centre at the DP World London Gateway Port, which it expects to open in 2029.

Tesco is the largest grocery retailer in Britain with a market share of 28.3% as of 13 July 2025, according to Kantar data.
