The chief customer officer at Lidl GB has announced that he is moving on to take up the same role with Lidl France.

Jassine Ouali is departing Lidl GB after nearly 18 months, during which time he served as chief operating officer and then chief customer officer.

Ouali initially joined Lidl GB from Lidl Germany where he spent almost two years as chief operating officer. No announcement about who will replace him has yet been made.

He confirmed the news in a post on LinkedIn in which he praised many of the people he worked alongside.

“Today marks my last day at Lidl GB and it’s hard to put into words how much this chapter has meant to me,” Ouali wrote.

“After one and a half incredibly intense, rewarding, and transformative years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Customer Officer, I’m now moving on to a new challenge: taking on the role of Chief Customer Officer at Lidl France.

“These past 18 months have been the most demanding of my career but also the most fulfilling. I’ve grown as a leader and as a person. And more importantly: we have achieved exceptional results together, in record time.

“To my teams: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You were the heartbeat of everything we built and your dedication, spirit, and resilience inspired me every single day.”

After mentioning several colleagues, Ouali finished by thanking Lidl GB chief executive Ryan McDonnell and the retailer’s board.

“You are one of the strongest leaders I’ve ever worked with,” he said about McDonnell.

“Thank you for your trust, your guidance, and for creating the space for me to lead boldly.

“To all my colleagues on the Board and at our international HQ: You are passionate, inspiring people. I’ll miss working alongside you and learning from you.

“And finally a heartfelt thank you to all of our colleagues across the business: Thank you for showing up every day with such pride and purpose. You are the true heroes of our success.”
