Jam manufacturer Sarah Gray’s has announced the recall because the fact that the jams contain sulphites is not mentioned on the label, which means the products pose a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites.
A total of 14 jam products have been recalled, with point of sale notices set to be displayed in all retail stores that sell them.
They advise that anyone with sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites should not eat the jam and instead return any jars that have been purchased for a full refund.

Meanwhile, Ballymaguire Foods is recalling various meat products because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
All pack sizes of ‘Good Food Turkey and Ham Dinner’, ‘Supervalu Turkey and Ham Dinner’, ‘Centra Turkey and Ham Dinner’ with all batch codes and use-by dates have been recalled and should be returned to the store where they were born for a full refund.
Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.
Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.
