The Compleat Food Group is recalling two scotch egg products because they have been contaminated with Salmonella.

One batch of ‘Wall’s The Classic Scotch Egg 113g’ and a batch of ‘Wall’s 2 Classic Scotch Eggs 226g’ are being recalled because Salmonella has been found in the products.

Anyone that has purchased either product with a best before date of 2 July 2025 should not consume it and instead return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Compleat Food Group has issued point of sale notices to all retail stores that sell the products informing consumers about the issue.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

“This is an isolated incident and no other Wall’s products are affected,” Compleat Food Group, which owns the Wall’s meat products brand, said in a statement.

In related news, Orgenism is recalling an ‘Eggshell Membrane Capsules’ SKU sold on Amazon because Salmonella has been found in the product.

All batch codes have been recalled, with the 500mg capsules sold in packs of 60.

Salmonella found in this product has been linked to human illness after consumption of the product, with the Salmonella detected resistant to several antibiotics.

The Salmonella identified produces extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL), and is resistant to several antibiotics such as fluoroquinolones, tetracycline and Fosfomycin, making it more difficult to treat.

Anyone that has consumed the product has been told to contact their local health protection team for advice on whether or not they need to be tested and how to safely return the product.

Due to the nature of the Salmonella detected, particular disposal routes are required and anyone that has purchased the product has been asked to contact their local health protection team for advice on how to dispose of it.

Finally, Grape Tree is recalling a batch of ‘Raw Unsalted Macadamia Nuts 250g’ that have been contaminated with Salmonella.

Packs with a batch code of G41 5 003 242186 and a May 2026 best before date have been contaminated and should not be consumed.
