Packs of ‘Chicken Cooked Meat Trimmings 400g’ sold in Aldi are being recalled because they may contain pieces of plastic, making them unsafe to eat.
Any packs with the batch code 50328453 and best before date of 4 July 2025 has been recalled as a “precaution” and may present a choking hazard to anyone that tries to consume their contents.
BM Foods Ltd has issued point of sale notices to all retail stores that are selling these products, which urge consumers to return impacted packs for a full refund.
“We apologise that this product did not meet out normal high standards and thank you for your cooperation,” Aldi said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Ballymaguire Foods is recalling its ‘Good Food Locally Sourced Freshly Prepared Bacon and Cabbage Dinner’ because it may contain Listeria monocytogenes.
The product, which is only sold in Northern Ireland, comes in a 600g pack and anyone that has purchased a pack with a best before date of 30 June 2025, 3 July 2025, 5 July 2025 or 7 July 2025 has been advised not to consume the contents.
Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.
People over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems are all more vulnerable to Listeria infections.
Ballymaguire Foods has issued point of sale notices to all Aldi stores where the product is sold advising anyone that has purchased an impacted pack to return it for a full refund.
