The site in Worcester is the foodservice provider’s 27th depot in the UK and was opened as part of a wider plan at Bidfood to invest in its long-term infrastructure.
Located on the Worcester Six Business Park, the depot offers transport links to the Midlands region and will have created 200 new job opportunities for local people once it is fully operational later this year.
The new depot is 60,000 square foot in size and boasts high-quality, modern facilities as well as offering additional capacity to support growing customer demand in and around the Birmingham area.
“Worcester will provide an outstanding addition to our already strong depot network,” said Mark Wood, chief operating officer at Bidfood.
“The introduction of yet another new depot continues to emphasise the importance that we place on long-term investment in our infrastructure.
“Following record volumes of items handled by the Bidfood network recently, the addition of this new depot will further enhance our ability to provide our customers with service excellence and ultimately place us closer to them.”
Bidfood has also confirmed that work on a 28th depot in Durham is now underway. The site is expected to open sometime in the summer of 2026, strengthening Bidfood’s estate in the North-East.
Operating across the UK, Bidfood offers a product range of 10,000 items that includes the best of both own brand and leading foodservice brands. This includes a range of more than 250 wines, beers, ciders and spirits, as well as catering equipment such as cutlery, cookware, cleaning materials and disposables.
Bidfood opened its 26th depot on the Cooksland Industrial Estate in Bodmin last year, creating 30 jobs for local drivers in the process and strengthening its distribution network in the south west of England.
The 15,000 square foot depot was opened in order to ease pressure on its Lee Mill site during busy periods.
