The Lowestoft-based firm Lacons supplies more than 1,000 customer accounts across the east of England and into London.
With a heritage dating back to 1760, Lacons is a dynamic modern brewery with a strong emphasis on innovation. Currently, it brews both cask and keg beers and delivers more than 2,000 product lines.
Meanwhile, Unitas is a leading independent wholesale buying group that supports a network of more than 130 members across 285 distribution points.
Moving forward, Lacons has plans in place to grow its turnover to £30 million by 2027 and expand nationally.
“Following on from our recent move to our new distribution centre, which signalled the next stage of our continued growth plan, joining Unitas Wholesale is a perfect fit and provides us with more tools to continue our successful expansion journey,” said Lacons managing director Mick Carver.

In response, Unitas managing director John Kinney welcomed Lacons to the group.

The news follows the announcement that Unitas has appointed Gurms Athwal as its new trading director.
Athwal, who will sit on the firm’s executive team, is scheduled to take up the role on 2 June 2025.
