Ottolenghi is recalling a crisp product because it contains two allergens that are not mentioned on the label.

The food brand is recalling several batch codes of the ‘Vadouvan Pita Chips 150g’ because the label does not mention that the product contains celery and mustard.

This means that the product poses a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy to celery or mustard.

Packs with a best before date of 28 May 2025, 29 May 2025 or 30 May 2025 and a batch code of either 290525 or 300525 are being recalled and should not be consumed by anyone with an allergy to celery or mustard.

Ottolenghi has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall, and has also issued point-of-sale notices explaining why the recall has been announced.

Anyone that has purchased a pack involved in the recall has been urged to return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Meanwhile, Giovanni Rana (UK) Ltd is recalling a La Famiglia Rana brand product because of a packaging error.

Certain packs of the ‘Slow-Cooked Braised Beef Lasagne 700g’ may contain a prawn and lobster lasagne product instead, which contains crustaceans.

The presence of crustaceans is not mentioned on the beef lasagne packaging, meaning that the mispacked product represents a health risk for anyone with an allergy to crustaceans.

Packs impacted by the error have a L0B510816 batch code and a use by date of 17 June 2025.

Giovanni Rana (UK) Ltd has been told to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, while it has issued point-of-sale notices to all stores which sell the product.

“Consumers who have purchased the product should not eat it and can return it to the store from which you purchased it for a refund, even without presenting the purchase receipt,” the firm said in a statement.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
