The distiller’s first nationwide listing, Golf Gin will be available in 202 Waitrose stores with the supermarket having grocer exclusivity for three months.
Eden Mill’s Golf Gin launches with a refreshed bottle design and is the ‘world’s first’ spirit to be distilled with botanicals foraged from the Old Course in St Andrews – one of the world’s most famous golf courses.
Rennie Donaldson, chief executive officer at Eden Mill, said: “St Andrews is the beating heart of our brand and it’s the historical home of golf, so we’ve always wanted to authentically tie our Golf Gin product to the town. Foraging botanicals from the world-famous Old Course has allowed us to do just that.
‘Perfect launch pad’
“A UK-wide listing at Waitrose is the perfect launch pad for the gin. Golf participation has been increasing consistently since 2020 and is showing no signs of letting off, so we’re delighted to have developed the perfect pour to toast to this growing segment.”
The London Dry gin is exclusively available in the grocery channel across the UK at Waitrose stores now. It will also be available on Eden Mill’s website and in their retail stores.
Waitrose spirits buyer John Vine added: “We have an avid audience of gin enthusiasts who shop with us and take the time to discover new brands with interesting stories.
“Eden Mill’s Golf Gin fits this bill to a tee – crafted with botanicals foraged from the Old Course St Andrews and distilled in their brand-new, sustainable distillery, we are sure this will pique the curiosity of our shoppers.”
New distillery
This new listing comes a month after production started at Eden Mill’s new distillery on the University of St Andrews ‘Eden Campus’.
Situated just 8 minutes’ drive from the Old Course, the new distillery can be seen across the Eden Estuary from the 6th hole. The distillery has already begun production of gin and whisky and is set to open its world class visitor centre in August 2025.
Eden Mill is now turning its attention to restarting whisky production with a view to filling hundreds more casks with their new-make spirit, ready to be laid down to mature.
Meanwhile, a new Korean pear juice drink designed to prevent hangovers has launched in the UK.
