Artisan crisp producer Fairfields Farm is expanding its product portfolio with the launch of a new limited-edition flavour, Chorizo & Red Wine.

Inspired by the ‘growing demand’ for bold and rich tastes, this new flavour is made using natural flavourings with a ‘hefty’ paprika hit. The crisps replicate the smoky profile of chorizo with hints of garlic, complemented by the ‘fruity undertones’ of red wine.

Like with all of Fairfields Farm’s other flavours, Chorizo & Red Wine crisps will be vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

Delivering new experiences

Laura Strathern, co-founder of Fairfields Farm, said: “We can’t wait for crisp fans to try our new Chorizo & Red Wine flavour. Consumers are always seeking new and exciting flavour experiences, and this one delivers – as soon as we tried it, we knew we were onto a winner.

“As always, we’re proud of our new product development who have created this perfect flavour, as well as everyone who has worked tirelessly to bring it to life. It’s a limited edition, though, so we just hope that everyone who wants a pack gets their hands on one.”

Fairfields Farm grows its own crisping potatoes, which are hand cooked on site. It exports to about 20 countries including Mauritius, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Russia, Dubai, Germany, Norway, North America and Canada.

Recent investment

Last year, the manufacturer expanded production with the installation of a new fryer, part of a multi-million-pound investment in the company.

Fairfields Farm’s Chorizo & Red Wine flavour will be launching in 150g sharing packs in May this year. The limited-edition flavour will be available to purchase from wholesalers, selected retailers, on Amazon and the brand’s website.

Meanwhile, Scottish crisp manufacturer Taylors Snacks is creating new jobs as part of a deal to supply Marks & Spencer stores across the UK and Ireland.

The partnership will see Taylors launch a new range of ‘Extreme Ridge’ crisps, potato snacks that feature a thinner cut and a tighter ridge compared to standard crisps, offering a “lighter, crispier bite”.
