Based in Glasgow, PJ Foods is a sandwich producer with more than 30 years of experience in the Scottish market, with the acquisition signalling the expansion of Tiffin’s footprint across the UK.
As part of the deal, Tiffin has committed to investing in PJ Foods’ Glasgow site in order to increase production capacity, modernise facilities and expand employment opportunities in production and logistics.
Tiffin plans to upgrade the machinery, logistics and training so that it can boost efficiency and capacity at the site.
“This acquisition is about more than just expanding our operations – it’s about embracing the values and quality that PJ Foods represents,” said Mark Salisbury, Director of Tiffin Sandwiches.
“We are incredibly proud to be investing in Scotland, a country renowned for its vibrant food and drink sector. By joining forces with PJ Foods, we’re combining national scale with local heart.”
“Our business is proudly labour-intensive, which enables us to create and sustain meaningful employment. We’re excited to build on PJ Foods’ outstanding local reputation, grow the team, and invest in skills and infrastructure that will benefit the community for years to come.”
Tiffin has also assured PJ Foods customers that they can expect the same quality produce made with locally sourced ingredients that they have come to trust.
Andrew Jackson Solicitors and Clive Owen accountants supported Tiffin with the deal.
“We’re deeply grateful to Scott and Julie, the founders of PJ Foods, for their decades of hard work in building such a strong and well-respected business,” continued Salisbury.
“Their support during this transition period is invaluable, and we look forward to continuing their legacy as we grow together.”
Headquartered in Bradford, Tiffin operates five sites in the UK including a distribution centre in Glasgow. It has more than 150 delivery vehicles, distributing 700,000 fresh products each week to around 4,000 locations.
