Several batches of the ‘Tony’s Chocolonely Hollow Milk Caramel Sea Salt Egg (242g)’ and the ‘Tony’s Chocolonely Hollow Milk Chocolate Egg (242g)’ are being recalled because of the possible presence of “metal fragments”, which makes the products unsafe to eat.
Impacted batches from both SKUs have a June 2025 best before date, with the implicated batch codes listed below.
- Tony’s Chocolonely Hollow Milk Caramel Sea Salt Egg: L0385D, L0415D, L3244D, L3254D, L3264D, L3274D, L3304D, L3384D, L3394D, L3404D, L3444D, L3454D, L3464D and L3474D.
- Tony’s Chocolonely Hollow Milk Chocolate Egg: L0355D, L0345D, L0315D, L0305D, L3544D, L3534D, L3524D, L3514D, L3484D, L3374D, L3344D, L3334D, L3324D, L3314D, L3234D, L3204D, L3194D and L3184D.
Point of sale notices are being displayed in all stores that sell the products explaining why the recall is taking place. The notices also urge any consumer that has purchased a recalled pack to return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund, no receipt required.

Food Manufacture has also reached out to the company for comment.
This is the second recall that Tony’s Chocolonely has announced since the start of this month.
On 1 April, the chocolate manufacturer announced that it was recalling multiple batches of two specific chocolate bars due to a risk of small stones being present in the product.
A spokesman for the confectionery firm said: “We are extremely sorry to have to issue this recall, and for the inconvenience that this will cause people who purchased these products.”
