Inspired by Tango Ice Blast flavours, Tango Raspberry Blast and Cherry Blast will be returning to store shelves for a limited time in a new 2 litre format, building on the success of its first convenience excusive launch in April 2024.
Retailing with an MRSP of £3.35, the new larger bottles will be available across discounters including Iceland, Home Bargains and more.
Carlsberg Britvic hoped the format expansion would allow more retailers to target take home soft drink occasions, such as ‘big nights in’.
Tango sales growth
Sales of Tango are now worth £113m, up 7.6% in the past year, with Tango Blast a top performer for the brand. Raspberry Blast and Cherry Blast secured first and second place for fruit-flavoured carbonate product development in 2024 (Nielsen) and contributed to almost half of Tango’s overall growth in 2024.
Tango Raspberry Blast and Tango Cherry Blast are available now across selected discounters for a limited time of six months. In-store shopper activations will support the launch throughout April, as well as social and PR activations.
Formed in 2025 following the acquisition of Britvic by Carlsberg, Carlsberg Britvic’s soft drinks range offers well-known brands including Fruit Shoot, Robinsons, Tango, J2O, London Essence, Teisseire, Plenish and Jimmy’s Iced Coffee.
Under exclusive PepsiCo agreements, the company is also licensed to make, market and sell popular drinks including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Ice Tea and Rockstar Energy.
Carlsberg Britvic’s operations
Its national footprint includes six production facilities and a logistics operation with 16 depots servicing customers across the UK.
In January, Carlsberg Britvic spent £1.15m upgrading its Rugby factory’s centralised chilling system to make use of more efficient colling towers.
This investment – supported by a £305,000 grant from the Government’s Industrial Energy Transformation Fund – will offer increased efficiency over the current heat rejection set up, allowing for a reduction in electricity consumption on the chiller units.
Meanwhile, drinks brand Tropicana has launched a new range of blended fruit juice SKUs in a variety of flavours.
