Based in Doncaster, the firm is a leading supplier of own-label and branded chilled Yorkshire puddings in the UK with a turnover of £28 million in the year up to March 2024.
Founded in 1992, the Real Yorkshire Pudding Co has listings in all major retailers and manufactures a broad range of products including prepared meals, desserts and vegan and gluten-free alternatives.
Compleat Food Group said that the acquisition would allow it to extend its manufacturing capabilities, while allowing the Real Yorkshire Pudding Co to leverage the group’s experience in category development.
Commenting on the deal, Compleat Food Group CEO Nick Field said: “We are excited to welcome the Real Yorkshire Pudding Co to The Compleat Food Group. The Real Yorkshire Pudding Co has a longstanding reputation for creating high-quality, delicious food that people love to eat, which perfectly aligns to our mission to create food to feel good.
“This partnership is about more than just great products, it’s about bringing together talented teams, shared values, and a culture of excellence to create something truly special. We are looking forward to the future and working with the Real Yorkshire Pudding Co as we continue to grow.”
Meanwhile, the Real Yorkshire Pudding Co managing director Bill Howson said the deal marked an exciting new chapter for the business.
“We’ve built our business on quality, innovation, and a passion for great Yorkshire puddings, and Compleat is the perfect partner to help us in the next stage of our growth journey,” Howson continued.
“We’re excited to work together and the group’s expertise, market reach, and shared commitment to exceptional products make them a great fit for our ambitions.”
The news comes shortly after the announcement by Compleat Food Group that it had made an unnamed number of redundancies at its facility in Crewe, a site it acquired following its 2021 purchase of Wrights Food Group.
Since then Compleat Food Group has made a series of acquisitions, including SK Foods and Zorba Foods from The Entrepreneurial Food Group and speciality food producer Harvey & Brockless last year.
