Arrow, who was named CEO in May 2024 following the departure of co-founder James Watt, is being replaced by James Taylor, who has served as chief financial officer since November 2023.
No further details were released about the reasons for Arrow’s departure.
Meanwhile, Lauren Carrol has been promoted to the role of chief operating officer after spending more than two years as chief marketing officer.
“James Taylor has been an instrumental leader at BrewDog, steering the financial strategy and laying a strong foundation for profitable growth,” said BrewDog chair Allan Leighton.
“His deep understanding of our business, coupled with his proven track record in operational excellence, makes him the ideal choice to guide BrewDog into its next chapter. I would also like to congratulate Lauren for her promotion, testament to her fantastic work and proven track record during her time at BrewDog.
“Finally, I would like to thank James Arrow for his contribution to BrewDog since he arrived in 2023 and wish him every success in the future.”
Taylor possesses extensive financial and strategic experience, while he oversaw BrewDog’s financial operations during a period of significant transformation.
Prior to joining the firm in 2023, he held senior leadership roles at Mayborn, Anya Hindmarch, GHD and Tishman Speyer.
As for Carrol, she joined the firm in 2018 from Stork and has played a central role in the launch of new beers such as Wingman, Black Heart and Shore Leave.
Chief operating officer is her six different role with BrewDog, evidence of her fast ascent at the firm.
Headquartered in Ellon, Scotland, BrewDog employs more than 2,700 people and operates over 120 bars, hotels and venues around the world.
Founded in 2007, it has breweries in Ellon, as well as in Ohio, Berlin and Brisbane, and exports to more than 60 countries.
