UK pizza brand Crosta Mollica is sponsoring Venezia FC’s women’s first team for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The partnership with Venezia FC Femminile launched last month and sees Crosta Mollica’s new branding feature prominently on the team’s kit.

While Crosta Mollica is based in the UK, all of its products are manufactured in Italy before being imported to the UK for sale, with this collaboration reinforcing the brand’s “connection to Italian culture”.

Previously known as Crosta & Mollica, the brand dropped the ampersand as part of an attempt to enable easier pronunciation.

Its pizzas and side dishes are available in the chilled and frozen aisles of several major supermarket retailers in the UK.

‘Unique football club’

Commenting on the partnership, Crosta Mollica marketing director Dean Lavender said the firm was delighted to announce the news.

“Venezia is a unique football club that embraces tradition whilst taking a thoroughly modern outlook and this chimes with the Crosta Mollica approach,” he added.

“We produce our award-winning sourdough pizzas to the north of the city and feel a close connection to the club and the area. We hope that this is the start of a long-term relationship between Crosta Mollica and Venezia FC Femminile.”

‘Proud’

Meanwhile, the director of Venezia FC Femminile Grazia Trentin commented: “We are excited to welcome Crosta Mollica as the Main Partner of Venezia FC Women and are proud to be the first team in Italy to receive their support. This represents an important confirmation of the value of our project, which aims to promote the talent, passion, and values of women’s football – elements we consider fundamental to our identity.

“On behalf of myself and all the Lionesses, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Crosta Mollica for their trust and support. We share the same passion, determination, and courage, and we are confident that together we will reach new and important milestones, contributing to the growth and enhancement of women’s football.”

Venezia FC Femminile currently plays in Serie C, the third tier of top level women’s football in Italy.
