After a long application and judging process, the night of the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards was finally upon us.
The event, held once a year at the Bankside Hilton Hotel in London, celebrates the hard work and achievement of the firms and people that drive the food and drink manufacturing sector forward and keep the country fed.
With attendees flocking to the capital from all over the UK, the excitement was building before the event got underway!
Laura Bounds of Kent Crisps was a worthy finalist, but just missed out in the end to James Arnold of Sleaford Quality Foods in the battle for Business Leader of the Year.
Meanwhile, the team at Proper Cornish had a particularly busy day on their hands.
The long journey from Cornwall to London was certainly worth it though, as Proper Cornish took home the Site Team of the Year Prize.
Another big winner on the night was Noble Foods, with the fresh foods manufacturer named as Employer of the Year!
Raynor Foods and Imaging Software were the winners of the Collaboration & Partnership Award, impressing the judges with their innovative ‘Smart People + Smart Process = Smart Factory’ project!
Special mention must also go to Daily Dose, who picked up both the Emerging Business Award and the prestigious Manufacturer of the Year prize. Founder George Hughes-Davies can be seen below posing alongside all the winners on the night with their Food Manufacture Excellence Awards trophies.
With these awards now in the books, attention already turns to next year. So if you think that your company or colleague should be in with a shout, be sure to look out for the opening of applications in the summer.
