After a year of rapid growth in 2024, driven by a consistent 9% month-on-month rise in customer numbers, Fuel Hub is projected to hit the £4m turnover mark in April 2025.
Founded in 2019 by Michelle and James Laithwaite, Fuel Hub produces up to 12,000 chef-prepared, high-protein meals weekly for customers nationwide and organisations including Matchroom Boxing, Team GB, Chelsea FC, Fulham FC and the Professional Darts Corporation.
Looking ahead, the firm is now preparing for further expansion in 2025, with plans to triple its weekly production capacity to 36,000 meals.
Operating out of its 15,000 square foot facility in Warrington, Fuel Hub is aiming to pass £7m in turnover by 2026. It will attempt to achieve this by streamlining labour-intensive processes through automation and making additional hires to strengthen its management team.
‘Excited to expand further’
“The past year has been pivotal for us, with incredible growth driven by our team’s dedication to delivering the very best in premium nutrition,” said Michelle Laithwaite, CEO and co-founder of Fuel Hub.
“Whether we’re fuelling elite athletes, working professionals, or busy families, we remain passionate about offering sustainable, convenient, high-quality meals that fit seamlessly into our customers’ lives.
“We save people valuable time, with meals ready to eat from the fridge in three minutes, we are making people’s lives easier whilst taking care of their biggest asset – their health. With higher demand, we’re excited to expand further and build on this momentum in 2025."
In addition to its impressive business growth, Fuel Hub picked up the Site Team of the Year prize at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards in February 2024.
Reflecting on the success, Michelle Laithwaite sat down for an extensive interview with Food Manufacture in September.
Tickets for the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards 2025 are still available, with the event set to take place on Thursday 6 February at Hilton London Bankside.
